If you have a new concept for how SSR can transform porcine tissue, blood, bone, skin, organs, or fat into higher-value products, this is where you submit it. We’re looking for ideas that SSR can adopt internally—whether that means new processes, new intermediates, or new ways of preparing materials for premium markets. Researchers, students, entrepreneurs, and innovators are all welcome.
Is the “New Idea” Track Right for You?
Choose this path if your concept involves SSR taking on a new capability, process, or internal workflow. That might include a new way of handling or freezing materials, a novel cleaning or fractionation process, or the creation of a semi-finished intermediate product that can be sold to high-value buyers.
You may be on the right track if your idea:
- Changes how SSR collects, treats, or stores a material stream
- Creates a new intermediate product SSR could manufacture
- Enables SSR to better serve medical, biotech, nutraceutical, or pet food markets
Evaluation & Selection Criteria
Top ideas will be considered for monetary awards and further collaboration. Submissions in this “New Idea” track will be evaluated based on their commercial, technical, and sustainability impact for SSR.
- Ability to unlock higher profits or value-added revenue
- Direct and specific reliance on SSR’s porcine co-products
- Clarity of the path to selling into premium or differentiated markets
- Feasibility within SSR’s current or near-term operations
- Regulatory viability
- Sustainability or circularity impact beyond conventional uses
- Degree of novelty and differentiation vs. status quo
